    Abstract Background: One of the main challenges of many societies in reducing and ageing of the population is marriage at an advanced age in women and decrease of producing offspring due to the concern of increasing the probability of maternal and neonatal outcomes. The mother's oxidative stress conditions during pregnancy affect mothers and their baby's health. Aging is one of the increasing factors of oxidants in the body. Aim of this study is the compartion total antioxidant capacity (TAC), total oxidants status (TOS), oxidative stress index (OSI) values, and maternal and neonatal outcomes in three groups of mothers with different age ranges from 20 to 29, 30 to 34, and 35 to 45 years old.
    Methods: 164 pregnant women were grouped according to age into three groups: 25 to 30 (group I), 30 to 35 (group II), and 35 to 45 years old (group III). The umbilical cord blood samples were taken to the assay TAC, TOS, and OSI (TOS/TAC). The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was employed to assess the normal distribution of countinus variables. The one-way ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis test were used to compare anthropometric and biochemical factors between groups.
    Results: TAC levels decreased non-significantly (438.2 ± 102; 431.7 ± 99.8; and 428.2 ± 100.26 for groups I, II, and III respectively, P value = 0.99), TOS levels increased significantly (23.93 ± 11.7; 25.4 ± 12.3; and 28.2 ± 12.7 for groups I, II, and III respectively, P value = 0.034), and OSI increased non-significantly with increasing maternal age (0.055 ± 0.044; 0.091 ± 0.031; 0.069 ± 0.005, for groups I, II, and III respectively, P value = 0.14). Increasing age did not significantly affects the maternal and infant birth outcomes.
    Conclution: The results showed that the increasing the age of the mother up to 45 doesn't have a significant effects on the value of OSI and the maternal and infant outcomes.

    Abstract Background: Infertility is a psychological crisis for a couple, spouse, and their families. Due to the positive effects of spiritual intelligence on the positive adaptation and growth of the individual under difficult circumstances, this study was conducted to determine the relationship between spiritual intelligence and resilience in infertile couples in Isfahan.
    Materials and methods: This cross-sectional study was performed in 2020 on 162 infertile couples. Data were collected by the convenience sampling method from infertile couples referring to Infertility Centers in Isfahan through two standard questionnaires. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistical methods for quantitative variables. The relationship between spiritual intelligence and resilience score was investigated using inferential statistical methods of Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple linear regression. A
    Results: The results showed that the mean age Standard Deviation (SD) of women and their spouses was 32.01 (5.86) and 36.30 (5.82) years, respectively. Pearson's correlation coefficient showed that there was a significant positive direct relationship between resilience score with total spiritual intelligence score (r = 0.36,
    Conclusions: The result of our study showed that couples with a higher level of spiritual intelligence had a better understanding of the problems and harms of primary infertility and would cope with it more efficiently.

    Abstract Endometriosis (EM) is a gynecological inflammatory disease often accompanied by stress, chronic pelvic pain (CPP), anxiety, and depression, leading to a diminished quality of life. This review aims to discuss the relationship between systemic and local inflammatory responses in the central nervous system (CNS), focusing on glial dysfunctions (astrocytes and microglia) as in critical brain regions involved in emotion, cognition, pain processing, anxiety, and depression. The review presents that EM is connected to increased levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines in the circulation. Additionally, chronic stress and CPP as stressors may contribute to the dysregulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, depleting the production of inflammatory mediators in the circulatory system and the brain. The systemic cytokines cause blood-brain barrier (BBB) breakdown, activate microglia in the brain, and lead to neuroinflammation. Furthermore, CPP may induce neuronal morphological alterations in critical regions through central sensitization and the activation of glial cells. The activation of glial cells, particularly the polarization of microglia, leads to the activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome and the overproduction of inflammatory cytokines. These inflammatory cytokines interact with the signaling pathways involved in neural plasticity. Additionally, persistent inflammatory conditions in the brain lead to neuronal death, which is correlated with a reduced volume of key brain regions such as the hippocampus. This review highlights the involvement of glial cells in the pathogenesis of the mental comorbidities of EM (i.e., pain, anxiety, and depression) and to discuss potential therapeutic approaches for targeting the inflammation and activation of microglia in key brain regions.

    Abstract Robotic surgery represents a milestone in surgical procedures, offering advantages such as less invasive methods, elimination of tremors, scaled motion, and 3D visualization. This in-depth analysis explores the complex biochemical effects of robotic methods. The use of pneumoperitoneum and steep Trendelenburg positioning can decrease pulmonary compliance and splanchnic perfusion while increasing hypercarbia. However, robotic surgery reduces surgical stress and inflammation by minimizing tissue trauma. This contributes to faster recovery but may limit immune function. Robotic procedures also limit ischemia-reperfusion injury and oxidative damage compared to open surgery. They also help preserve native antioxidant defenses and coagulation. In a clinical setting, robotic procedures reduce blood loss, pain, complications, and length of stay compared to traditional procedures. However, risks remain, including device failure, the need for conversion to open surgery and increased costs. On the oncology side, there is still debate about margins, recurrence, and long-term survival. The advent of advanced technologies, such as intraoperative biosensors, localized drug delivery systems, and the incorporation of artificial intelligence, may further improve the efficiency of robotic surgery. However, ethical dilemmas regarding patient consent, privacy, access, and regulation of this disruptive innovation need to be addressed. Overall, this review sheds light on the complex biochemical implications of robotic surgery and highlights areas that require additional mechanistic investigation. It presents a comprehensive approach to responsibly maximize the potential of robotic surgery to improve patient outcomes, integrating technical skill with careful consideration of physiological and ethical issues.

    Abstract Background and aims: Adverse cutaneous drug reactions (ACDRs) are common and potentially life-threatening, while also hindering patient compliance to medications. Given the regional differences in patterns and prevalence of ACDRs, it is important to study the epidemiology, as well as the clinical and outcome patterns of patients with ACDRs in Iran.
    Methods: This cross-sectional study on ACDRs was conducted among hospitalized patients in a referral university hospital in the city of Isfahan, Iran. The patients' demographics, clinical information, and outcomes, including age, gender, past medical history, medication history, drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS) diagnosis, Steven-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) diagnosis, toxic epidermal necrosis (TEN) diagnosis, treatment regimen (steroids or intravenous immunoglobulin [IVIG]) and outcome information, including intensive care requirements, severe medical complications, or death, were obtained from medical records.
    Results: A total of 195 patients with a mean age of 40 years and consisting of 61% females were included. Carbamazepine, lamotrigine, sodium valproate, and phenytoin are the most commonly reported medications. Rate of complications was 45% with DRESS, SJS, and TEN diagnosed in 26%, 47%, and 19%, respectively. Treatment was carried out with steroids and IVIG in 81% and 19%, respectively. Among patients, 15% required intensive care and 5% died. Diagnosis of TEN, older age, and baseline heart disease were predictors of mortality. Patients with SJS were younger and more likely to be males, and they were more likely to have eye complications. On the other hand, patients with the diagnosis of TEN were more likely to receive IVIG and intensive care, and had a higher mortality rate.
    Conclusion: Our study provides insight into the demographics and clinical patterns of Iranian patients with ACDRs. This will help in predicting rates of complications, treatments, and outcomes in patients and therefore make proper management decisions.

    Abstract The recent scientific focus on polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) has stemmed from their recognized genotoxic, mutagenic, and carcinogenic properties. This systematic review seeks to evaluate the nexus between exposure to water sources contaminated with PAHs and the associated cancer risk among global populations, encompassing both children and adults. Web of Science (WoS), Cochrane Library, PubMed, ProQuest, Scopus, and Google Scholar, were searched following the PRISMA guidelines, until December 31, 2023. Quality assessment of the selected studies was performed using the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale. The increased lifetime cancer risk (ILCR) attributed to PAH exposure through ingestion and dermal absorption was thoroughly examined across diverse age groups. After extensive searching, screening, and eligibility, 30 articles were included in this review, which was conducted in different parts of the world, including Nigeria (n = 11), China (n = 7), India (n = 4), Iran (n = 3), South Africa (n = 2), Italy (n = 1), Colombia (n = 1), and Iraq (n = 1). Our analysis underscores Nigeria's alarming prevalence of PAH contamination in its rivers, groundwaters, and seawater. Remarkably, the highest cancer risk was identified among children and adults, notably in proximity to the Atlas Cove jetty (seawater) and various Nigerian rivers. This elevated risk is primarily attributed to the combined effects of ingestion and dermal absorption. Furthermore, our findings emphasize the prominent role of combustion-derived and pyrogenic sources of PAH in the examined aquatic ecosystems. This study unequivocally establishes that PAH-contaminated water sources significantly amplify the risk of cancer among both children and adults. The extent of risk variation is influenced by the specific water source, duration of exposure, and age group. Consequently, proactive identification of contaminated water sources and their pollution origins, coupled with targeted educational campaigns, holds promise for reducing the global burden of PAH-related cancer.

    Abstract Background: Infertility and the use of assisted reproductive therapies affect infertile couples quality of life. Infertile couples face many physical, psychological, and financial challenges due to having a higher level of spiritual intelligence and resilience will help the infertile couple to adapt to infertility conditions and achieve their therapeutic goals.     Abstract Among the novel drug delivery systems (DDSs), covalent organic frameworks (COFs) show promising features in pharmaceutical science. In this paper, an imine-linked COF with hexagonal topology was synthesized using the autoclave condition. Then, the prepared COF (APB-COF) was used as a pH-dependent carrier for in vitro release of doxorubicin (DOX). The intrinsic properties of APB-COF caused reaching an excellent drug encapsulation efficiency. DOX@APB-COF shows an exemplary pH-dependent release in two different pHs. DOX release at pH = 7.4 was 32%, which increased to 54% by changing the pH to the cancer cell pH (pH = 5.4). Moreover, the cytotoxicity of APB-COF and DOX@APB-COF was studied using the standard MTT test against MCF10 (normal breast cell line) and MDAmb231 cells (breast cancer cell line), respectively. It was observed that the APB-COF does not affect cell proliferation, whereas the DOX@APB-COF only limits cancer cell proliferation. Using APB-COF as the drug carrier can pave the way for using COFs in innovative DDSs.

    Abstract Background: This study aimed to evaluate the reaction of the periapical tissue to Cold ceramic and mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) following periapical endodontic surgery.
    Materials and methods: In this experimental study, a total of 12 mandibular first, second, and third premolars of two male dogs were selected. All procedures were performed under general anesthesia. The access cavities were prepared, and the length of canals was determined. Root canal treatment was performed.
